Within 25 km
Gerlitzen Kanzelbahn: Cable car up to Gerlitzen with a wonderful view, all year long.
Villach: Cozy downtown restaurants, cafes, Drau beach promenade, a series of cultural events.
Feldkirchen: A nice small town with museums and churches. There are pleasant baths in the area.
Lake Faak: Turquoise water, family-friendly beaches, large-scale events (triathlon competition, Harley
Davidson meet, traditional market).
Velden am Wörthersee : A modern water town, a true summer watersport paradise, but is also famous for its casino. Coastal promenade with green parks, cafés and restaurants. In winter it’s the “City of Angels” with a charming advent fair.
Villacher Alpine Road– Dobratsch: A winding road from the city to the mountain. Above you can find the Dobratsch Nature Park with an amazing view. In winter it is a favorite destination for touring skiers.
Within 100 km
Bovec : A wonderful sight here is the 106m high Boka waterfall with 3 hiking trails to the top! In summer there is a series of cultural events, rafting tours on the Soca river. There are skiing possibilities in the winter nearby (Kanin).
Lake Bohinj: Slovenia’s largest natural lake was formed by glaciers. You can go on pleasant excursions here or even walk around the lake. Water lovers have the option of swimming (22 degrees Celsius), cruising or paddling.
Kobarid: A small town in the Soca-valley, famous for its excellent restaurants (Hisa Franko), a starting point for many hiking trails. Do not miss the Kozjak waterfall or the famous Napoleon bridge at the the path leading to the waterfall!
Within 60 km
Klagenfurt: The most famous sight in the province’s capital is the Minimundus park and the nearby Pyramidenkogel Tower with a view onto Lake Wörth.
Bad Kleinkirchheim: Hiking and skiing paradise, a favored spa town (Thermal Römerbad, Thermal St Kathrein).
Turracherhöhe: In winter it is a snow-covered ski resort, a favorite destination for summer hikes and the alpine rollercoaster is a super family program.
Nockalm Road– from the direction of Ebene Reichenau: 52 hairpin curves on a 35 km road up to the heights of 2042 metres, with cabins en route, playgrounds in several places.
Tarvisio (Monte Lussari): It is a real gem at the tri-border. The nearest Italian city with ski slopes, night skiing(!), cross-country skiing, dog sledding, many excursions, climbing, adventure parks. In the city there are nice cafes, pizzerias, shops.
The Fusine Lakes: The dazzlingly clean, incredibly blue ponds from the ice age can be easily reached by car and are easy to walk around.
Predil Lake: 10 kilometres from Tarvisio, its blue-green water is clean and cold. Programs: beach, boating, surfing, children’s playground.
Bled: Obligatory programs: visiting the castle, cruising with the typical pletna boat on the lake, and do not miss out on the distinct local dessert, the cream cake!
Kranjska Gora: A nice little resort near the Austrian-Italian-Slovenian tri-border. It provides active reast for hikers and cyclists (mountain bike, downhill). In winter, there are many ski slopes with different difficulty levels.
Within 260 km
Grossglockner/Heiligenblut: Grossglockner is Austria’s highest point, where you can enjoy the Kaiser-Franz-Josefs-Höhe while driving through the Grossglockner Street. Walk from the parking lot to the melting glacier, you will have a wonderful experience!
Hallstatt: Austria’s fairy tale town on the shores of Lake Hallstatt is part of the World Heritage Sites. Here is the oldest salt mine in the world, which has been a museum since 2002.
Salzburg: Also known as Mozartstadt (Mozart city), Austria’s oldest city, an important tourist center with a magnificent inner city and lovely streets.
Grado: Just a short 2 hour drive and you are able to sunbathe and swim on a typical Italian beach.
Venice/Mestre: Venice, one of Italy’s most important sights, should be visited at least once in a lifetime! After a 3-hour journey from your accomodation, you can be there for a comfortable one-day trip!
